Questions: Writing Center

The Writing Center, located in the basement of Roosevelt Hall (room 009), holds weekday hours between 10:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. Please register with our online system, WCOnline, to view a detailed schedule and make an appointment for face-to-face or online tutoring.

The Writing Center provides free assistance to writers from across the University community. Tutoring sessions are 45 minutes long. The Center employs as tutors undergraduate students for pay and/or credit, working with writers as a complement to their University studies.

In order to be eligible to apply to be tutors, students must successfully complete the 4-credit tutor training course WRT 353: Issues and Methods in Writing Consultancy.

Undergraduate tutors have the opportunity to present at local and national writing center conferences and to publish their reflections and research.

The Writing Center works in direct correlation with the Writing & Rhetoric department and the Writing & Rhetoric Production Lab. Our goal is to ensure that students have access to all of the resources they need to succeed in a valuable learning environment.

Questions? Check the Writing Center’s other Web site, or e-mail the Writing Center.
