Learning to write well made the difference

Adam Wiener, journalism

Senior Vice President for Content, Community, and Operations for CBS Local; Harrington School Executive Advisory Board

When a journalism student in the 1980’s, Adam Wiener was fascinated with Cold War politics. While he honed his writing skills, he also took courses in Russian language, history, and literature. During an internship with a political columnist at the “The Village Voice,” he had the chance to research news topics, including U.S.-Soviet relations. As Wiener climbed the corporate ladder he found effective writing was the key to success, no matter the medium. Now he is responsible for all digital content and operations (websites, mobile, social) for all locally owned and operated CBS Television and CBS Radio in the country. At the Harrington School, you will learn how to become an effective writer.
