Biography

Tracy Proulx has an M.A. in Communication Studies and a B.A. in Mass Communication. Prior to teaching at URI, she worked for five years in television production. She worked as a camera operator, instant replay operator, and technical director for NCAA basketball and minor league hockey. She also edited, directed, and produced for live shows and taped programs.

She has won regional, national, and international awards as a television producer. She also worked as a reporter and photojournalist for six years. She covered the September 11 attacks in New York and The Station Fire in Rhode Island. She was a member of the staff that won the 2004 RIJA award for Best Staff Coverage of The Station Fire.
