Biography

President and CEO Michael Rauh joined Chelsea Groton Bank on December 1, 2010. Chelsea Groton is a $850 million asset, 14 branch, full service mutual bank in southeastern Connecticut that places an emphasis on providing superior service to customers and the community.

Prior to joining Chelsea Groton, Michael worked for The Washington Trust Company for nineteen years, most recently as Executive Vice President, Sales, Service and Delivery. His early career experience included five years as Executive Vice President and Partner with advertising agency Chaffee-Bedard, located in Providence, Rhode Island. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Mr. Rauh earned his bachelor’s degree in economics. He has served as a board member for a variety of organizations including: The URI President’s Communications Advisory Committee, The Advisory Committee to the URI Dean of Arts and Sciences, Save the Bay, The Westerly-Pawcatuck Downtown Development Task Force, The Rhode Island Governor’s Commission on Bays, Rivers and Watersheds, Grow Smart Rhode Island, South County Center for the Arts, Quonset Point Development Corporation, The Washington County Regional Planning Council, and The Jonnycake Center. Currently, Michael serves on the board of Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, the board of the Norwich Community Development Corporation, as a Corporator for the Norwich Free Academy.

  • In 2008, Mr. Rauh was honored by the Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of the Year.
