Joel Gallen ’79 is a producer, director and founder and president of Tenth Planet Productions. His shows have included The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for HBO, The 25th Anniversary Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, The Concert for Valor, The MTV Movie Awards, America‚Äôs Best Dance Crew for MTV, The Sing-Off for NBC, CNN Heroes and The Comedy Central Roasts. Gallen was the executive producer of Zoolander and directed Not Another Teen Movie. Joel has produced some of the biggest fund-raising events in television history; Stand Up To Cancer raised close to $200m for cancer research with the last 2 broadcasts combined; Hope for Haiti, which Gallen produced with George Clooney, raised 70 million dollars after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Joel won an Emmy, Peabody, PGA, and DGA award, for producing and directing America: A Tribute to Heroes immediately following the attacks on 9/11. Joel lives in Los Angeles with his 10-year-old son Max.
