Heather Johnson

Biography

Heather has been teaching in the Writing and Rhetoric department since 2008, having moved to Rhode Island from Dublin, Ireland, where she taught literature and writing. She was previously Director of the Scottish Universities International Summer School. For several years, Heather worked as a faculty-development consultant at URI.

Teaching interests include Travel Writing, Creative Non-Fiction, and problem-based learning courses such as Immigrant Voices, in which students partnered with Doctors Without Borders.

Her passion for digital storytelling has led to innovations in course design and to an ongoing collaboration with Story Center.
