Biography

Amanda Izenstark is Professor and Reference and Instructional Design Librarian at the University Libraries, University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. She received her MLIS from URI in 2001, and has served as ACRL New England Member-at-Large and co-chair of ACRL Instruction Section’s Instructional Technologies and Teaching Methods Committees.

She teaches information literacy sessions and courses, and provides professional development opportunities for librarians for local and national organizations. She was a co-recipient in 2006 of the ACRL Instruction Section Innovation in Instruction Award, and was named the Rhode Island Library Association’s Outstanding Librarian in 2016.

Amanda is an adjunct faculty at the URI-GSLIS, and has taught LSC 504 Searching for Answers: Meeting Users’ Information Needs.
