Located in Chafee Hall, the Broadcast Center and TV Production Studio and adjacent 15-seat Control Room house state-of-the-art technology to facilitate all forms of digital production, streaming, and broadcasting. Managed by a three-time Emmy Award-winning technical director, and operated by a highly trained team of students, the studio features pedestal and robotic cameras and fiber optic cables that connect to athletic facilities and event venues around campus, thereby allowing students to produce events happening at remote location.
The facility recently completed a $1.25 million renovation that transformed it into one of the most state-of-the-art studios around, and it is open to all students. In addition to regularly scheduled classes, student clubs and organizations use the studio to produce The Daily Ram TV show, the Good Five Cent Cigar newscast and sportscast, interview by the Anchor Sports Network, and other video productions.
