Creative Spaces

Centrally located on the historic quad, Ranger Hall is the home of the Harrington School of Communication and Media with state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms. Ranger Hall’s massive Media Equipment Center lets you access a wide range of the latest, most state-of-the-art digital media equipment. 100% of students can access equipment on day one of arriving on campus. There are also plenty of labs and study spaces where you can work with others to edit your media projects using industry-standard software. You’ll have the opportunity to take courses and present your work in one of our well-equipped interactive classrooms.

 
 
 

The Film Production Lab

This learning environment features professional lighting, rigging equipment, backdrops, and a green screen.

There are three computer labs in Ranger Hall in rooms 106, 203, and 303. The labs on the first and third floors are open access with Adobe Creative Suite and Avid Pro Tools. The lab on the second floor is used for advanced editing and has all-new Mac Studio computers with dual-screen set-ups.

Ranger Hall has six editing suites available for students. These spaces include two video editing suites in 204A and 204B equipped with industry-standard video editing and color correction equipment,  two audio editing suites, the Herman Hillson Rose ‘70 Editing Suite in 101 and the Recording/Audio Lab in 106A, and two collaborative editing suites in 110 and the Bill Achtmeyer Collaborative Editing suite in 108.

Facilities and communities elsewhere on campus provide opportunities to bring your creative project to life or to immerse yourself with people who share your interests.
