Careers

The Harrington School of Communication is committed to preparing our graduates for the real world. Connecting our students with exciting internship opportunities provides essential, hands-on career experience. Employers want candidates who set themselves apart from the crowd, and students who’ve completed internships show applicable work experience outside the classroom.

Internship Spotlight

“I started the internship doing simple tasks such as archiving footage and assisting producers on shoots and worked my way up to producing my first full-length show, ‘Dinner and a Show,’ a half-hour about places to eat and enjoy a show in the Boston area. Throughout this program, I’ve learned a lot about myself, been exposed to new opportunities, and interacted with many amazing people.”

Communications and Film/Media ’23 major Sarima Omodu-Amadi spent two summers as a production intern for WCVB Chronicle through the Emma Bowen Foundation.

Internships are built directly into many Harrington programs, but all majors are encouraged to apply for one or several internships during their time at Harrington. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary opportunities ranging from film companies, non-profit organizations, PR agencies, sports teams to news broadcasters.

“I have found our ongoing work with Harrington School students to be successful. The students combine passion, an understanding of modern-day communications, and intelligence with everything they tackle with MikeWorldWide. The Harrington School students are well prepared for the workforce.”

“It was a pleasure working with the Harrington School intern program. We chose two candidates who started in June and they adapted quickly to our organization, making significant contributions to our marketing efforts, including helping our teams create new blog articles, podcasts, videos, and infographics.”
