Earlier this year, the Harrington School received a new addition with the opening of the newly-renovated Harrington Hub. The Hub, centrally located in Ranger Hall, includes state of the art active learning classrooms, editing suites, screening rooms, recording studio, a computer lab, as well as a media equipment center where students, faculty, and staff can check out media equipment.
Many students who have short breaks between classes across campus enjoy spending that break in the Hub. On any given day you can walk in to find students working on group projects, watching the large TV’s that help them keep up on daily news, or just relaxing on one of the new couches.Senior public relations student Analee Santaromita said she utilizes the Hub because the media equipment allows her to make professional quality work.”The Hub has enabled me to bring what I am learning in the classroom to life by giving me the tools to create meaningful content to add to my portfolio,” she said.
Not only is the Hub a place where students can work on individual or group projects, it is also where several Harrington School classes take place. The active learning classrooms are modern, high-tech classrooms that allow students to learn in an interactive environment.Senior public relations student James Lettieri said the new classrooms allow him to focus on his studies better than in a regular classroom.”The interactive classroom is definitely my favorite place to learn on campus,” he said. The Hub is open year-round for use by students and faculty.
