Harrington Testimonial: Outstanding Internships

Harrington School senior, Taylor Stickles, spent her summer in a brand-new way. A public relations and communication studies double major, Stickles served as the Public Relations Intern on the Brand Experience team at FM Global in Johnston, Rhode Island, during her summer break. FM Global is a mutual insurance company dedicated to property risk management. During the internship, Stickles worked on a wide variety of projects, both individually and as a member of a team, that were focused on responding to FM Global customers’ ever-changing interests, passions and needs.

“The internship at FM Global was an incredible opportunity,” Stickles said. “I would especially like to thank my team – Steve Zenofsky, APR, Fellow PRSA, Harrington alum Ashley Kuhar, Tommeeka Miller, and Victor Jaworski – for making this internship so valuable and educational for me. Each day, I was able to work amongst these talented professionals and got invaluable hands-on experience in the public relations field.”

Stickles was quick to note that the Harrington School prepared her to excel in this internship. She was able to apply the knowledge and skills she learned in her public relations and communication classes to the projects she worked on at FM Global. Now, she is looking forward to applying everything she learned during her internship to her newest role as the public relations coordinator at the URI Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies. At the Center, Stickles will handle media relations, share the Center’s message, and expand its reach.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better summer internship experience to prepare me with the skills I need for my senior year of college and future career,” Stickles said.
