By: Brianna Montecalvo, Communications Studies Major, Class of 2017
Devyn Branick is one of the Harrington School’s newest graduates. Just short of a month after she had her last class at URI, Devyn got a job as a Post Prep Technician for NBCUniversal.
Every day is different for her as she screens content from different NBC-owned networks before it airs. She makes sure the video and audio have no flaws so audiences are able to have a great viewing experience. It is likely that you watch some of Devyn’s work in the comfort of your home.
Branick is quick to note that she loves her job, but her favorite part is the variety and the challenges it offers every day.
“My favorite part of my job is definitely how fast-paced the environment is,” Branick said. “One minute I can be screening “The Land Before Time” for Sprout and the next I can be watching “The Real Housewives” for Bravo. This keeps my job fresh and fun!”
As a former Harrington School Ranger and now a graduate with dual degrees in film and communication studies, she is confident that the Harrington School prepared her well for her future. Whether it was through the knowledgeable and accomplished faculty or the ability to have an interdisciplinary approach to her education, Branick applies the skills she learned in the classroom to her job daily.
Congratulations Devyn Branick, Class of 2016.
