Deborah Stewart

Deborah Stewart began her career as a reporter for the Fort Lauderdale News and has spent most of her career as an editor for newspapers and magazines. She has worked at the Providence Journal, served as  a metro editor and assistant national news editor at the Los Angeles Times and was a copy editor at the Washington Post Magazine. She still does freelance writing and also edits the Westerly Land Trust newsletter, “A Sense of Place.”  She has taught Journalism 110 and Journalism 341 at URI.  In her spare time, she likes to sail, play tennis, piano and bluegrass banjo.
