A professor of any discipline could tell you that good writing is free from errors, but Professor Robert Schwegler could literally write the book on the subject. Schwegler has an interest in researching errors in the written English language and the social and political dimensions of errors. His zeal for writing is shown in his many publications, which range from instructing their readers on the writing process, to sharing writing strategies when writing about culture and identity, which are more of Schwegler’s research interests. Schwegler is not just a researcher, but a member of professional writing organizations, as he is part of the Executive Board in the Rhode Island Consortium on Writing and an advisory committee member of the National Archives of Composition and Rhetoric. Schwegler’s writing expertise is one that he has strove to share with others: as a professor, as a researcher, and as a member of his community.
