Biography

Lori Merolla, formerly served 12 years in a variety of communications roles with Fidelity Investments. She is the former Vice President of Fidelity Institutional, where she was responsible for the strategic development and execution of internal and executive communications. Lori joined Fidelity in 1998 as the Communications Manager for the Smithfield site, where she was responsible for planning and implementing site-wide communication strategies, as well as community and employee events.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Lori was the Marketing and Communications Director for the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, where she was responsible for all internal and external communications including public relations activities, collateral materials, executive speech writing, training videos, and the production of a local cable television program. For 10 years, she was a part-time instructor in the Communication Studies Department of the University of Rhode Island, where she taught a variety of courses, including Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Persuasion.

Lori serves on the Advisory Council for the University of Rhode Island’s College of Arts and Sciences, and on the Board for the Providence Performing Arts Center. She was a member of the 2005 Leadership Rhode Island class. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication from the University of Utah, and a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from the University of Rhode Island.
