PR Society “Warms Hearts” at the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale
In a spirit of giving, the Public Relations Society (PRS) invited the URI community to pin mittens and hats to the bannister at Davis Hall as part of the “Warm Hearts” effort. A cascade of mittens and hats adorned the bannister demonstrating the community spirit of the URI community. More than 50 mittens/hats were donated to the Jonnycake Center – just in time for the winter months ahead.
The President of the PRS, Alexandra Baccari, was extremely happy with the turnout. “We received donations from the URI community and also the surrounding South County community who knitted some mittens for our drive. The Public Relations Society and I are extremely thankful for anyone who participated in our drive and donated hats, mittens or both.”
Susan Gustaitis, the Executive Director of the Jonnycake Center, would like to thank the Harrington School of Communication and Media’s Public Relations Society; “You have warmed our hearts with your thoughtfulness.” Gustaitis adds, “The Johnnycake Center appreciates all of the hates and mittens donated by the Warm hearts drive and we look forward to distributing them to those in need in our community.”
To everyone who donated, thank you!
