Library and Information Studies
Accredited by the American Library Association, the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies (GSLIS) is one of six academic programs that make up the Harrington School of Communication and Media, uniting faculty, student, and staff strengths to provide enhanced resources for programs in Library and Information Studies, School Library Media, Teacher Certification, and Information Literacy. We are proud to be among the few handful of programs of higher education that integrate library and information studies into a comprehensive program of communication and media studies.
Our graduates benefit from opportunities to engage in real-world learning, developing competencies as information professionals, educators and effective communicators. Education at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies prepares students throughout our nation and the world for a profession that places them at the center of intellectual life in a wide range of communities.
