Are you the next Jim Gaffigan, Ellen DeGeneres or Louis C.K.? Want to be one of 15 hilarious students, faculty or staff to learn the tricks and tips of standup comedy?
In this workshop from professional comedian and instructor Nathan Hartswick, you’ll learn to “think like a comic,” using experiences and observations from your own life to create your own unique comedic voice and perform standup comedy like a pro. The workshop is open to URI students, parents, faculty and staff, and will culminate with a live performance for family and friends – a safe and fun way to “ease into” the world of standup comedy.
You’re already funny, now get the inside edge on how to hone your skill.
Applications to participate will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on 10/1 until the magic number 15 is reached. For more information or to sign up, visit OpenMicOpenMinds.com or tweet @ComedyScholar.
