The first of our four Hangouts is on the development of a new interdisciplinary major, tentatively titled Integrated Media. Tom Zorabedian is heading up this initiative, and he will participate in our conversation. We will be learning more about his plans and soliciting your feedback to advance the initiative. Discussion questions may include:

  • What does the term “Integrated Media” mean to you?
  • How should the Integrated Media major be different from current academic programs?
  • How can communication strategy best be included in this new program?
  • What combination of flexibility and structure is most appropriate?
  • How would you explain the value and usefulness of the Integrated Media major to prospective students? To their parents? To prospective employers?
For those of you unfamiliar with Google Hangouts, they are a kind of video conference, similar to Skype. Up to 10 people can participate and thousands can watch “live” or as a recorded broadcast. You can access a Google Hangout from anywhere you have access to the Internet– your home, your office or wherever. It’s a web TV talk show.If you have a Google Plus account, you can chat with us live on Wednesday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m. EST .
